ABOUT ACACIA

Acacia Clinics opened its doors in 2018 after founding members Dr. David Carreon and Dr. Nathan Meng, both Stanford Medicine alumni, were disheartened by the mental health care’s stagnant nature. Even while training at one of the top psychiatry programs in the world, there was a general resignation that some patients may never get better.

Dr. Carreon and Dr. Meng shared a vision that there was a better way to approach mental health care. A way that honored patients as unique individuals, not a collection of chemicals. Together, they founded Acacia Clinics, which integrated research, patient-focused care, and cutting-edge therapies to provide the best experience and results.

Today, the clinic is the leading provider of the latest mental health treatments with the aim of helping patients not merely exist but flourish.

Treatments Offered

HOPE-TMS®

Acacia’s specialized treatment protocol that isn’t offered anywhere else — HOPE-TMS® is a program that combines the accelerated 5-day TMS treatment process with high-impact, evidence-based psychotherapy. With HOPE-TMS®, your patient will get a functional MRI (or fMRI) with personalized targeting. This is genuine and true neuronavigation to a personalized target that is unique to you, to give our patients the best and most lasting results.

Conventional TMS

We also offer Conventional TMS services, which are covered by most insurance providers. Treatment is delivered in 8-22 minute increments once per day over the course of 8 to 10 weeks, depending on your specific diagnosis protocol.

SAINT® Therapy

The SAINT® neuromodulation system is an innovative approach to treating depression. It employs non-invasive magnetic stimulation tailored to precisely target specific brain areas linked to depression. This accelerated and personalized method is designed to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

ACT TMS

Accelerated therapy (ACT) TMS at Acacia is a treatment protocol that uses a timing pattern similar to SAINT® and HOPE-TMS®. The treatment schedule spans 5-10 days with up to 10 sessions per day for a total of 50 stimulation sessions.

This therapy does not require an fMRI and is not real time neuronavigated. Accelerated TMS is prescribed both on Magventure and BrainsWay’s Deep TMS® system.

SPRAVATO®

SPRAVATO® (esketamine) is a safe, non-invasive prescription nasal spray designed to treat adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) who have not found relief with other antidepressant treatments. Acacia uses SPRAVATO® as a complement or alternative to TMS in certain challenging cases.

Clinical Trials

The Acacia Research Center (ARC) is dedicated to advancing neuroscience and revolutionizing neuromodulation treatment. At ARC, we collaborate with industry and academic partners to conduct pioneering clinical trials. Check out ARC to see if any trials are suitable for your patient.
